• Political Alignment: Dr. Umar expressed extreme disappointment over Minaj's public support for Donald Trump and JD Vance, whom she praised as "role models" for young men during the event.

• Cultural Betrayal: He argued that Minaj used Hip-Hop to build her status within Black culture but is now allowing her platform to be "used against" Black Caribbean, Black African, and Black American people.

• "Snatched Melanin": In a viral remark, Dr. Umar claimed he had "snatched" Minaj's melanin, metaphorically stripping her of her cultural standing due to her political shift.

• Replacing Candace Owens: Dr. Umar suggested that Minaj is being positioned as a celebrity replacement for Candace Owens to help mobilize conservative support within the Black community.

At the conservative youth convention, Minaj was interviewed by Erika Kirk (widow of Charlie Kirk). During the session, she spoke about her newfound support for the MAGA movement, her Christian faith, and her actions in denouncing violence against Christians in Nigeria.
