Man accused of Stealing Beyonce's Music Set To Hit Trial

Kelvin Evans, the 40-year-old man accused of stealing unreleased Beyoncé music and sensitive tour materials, is scheduled to go to trial on Monday, May 11, 2026. He recently rejected a plea deal that would have sentenced him to five years in prison, stating in court, "I'm ready for trial now".

The charges follow a July 2025 incident in Atlanta where Evans allegedly broke into a rental SUV used by members of Beyoncé's tour crew.

Case Details

  • The Incident: On July 8, 2025, during the Atlanta stop of the "Cowboy Carter" tour, a vehicle window was smashed at a Krog Street parking garage.

  • Stolen Items: Two suitcases containing flash drives with watermarked, unreleased Beyoncé music, as well as tour setlists, rehearsal footage, laptops, and Apple AirPods Max headphones.

  • Current Status: Evans faces felony charges for entering an automobile and misdemeanor criminal trespass. If convicted, his prior record could lead to a maximum sentence of six years in prison.

  • Missing Materials: Despite Evans' arrest in September 2025, investigators reported that some digital materials, including the unreleased tracks, have still not been recovered.
