ItzYourzRadio Shows Love To Krush Groove

"It seems just like yesterday...". A phrase that is often used, particularly when it comes to memories that we cherish. That phrase was one at the top of discussion when ItzYourzRadio Host Donni-Oh! and Hip-Hop Historian Jay Quan shared their thoughts about the impact of one of the most important films that has helped propel hip-hop music into the mainstream.

October 1985, Russell Simmons' Krush Groove hit theaters nationwide. It starred/featured Blair Underwood, Run-DMC, Sheila E, Kurtis Blow, The Fat Boys, LL Cool J, Dr. Jeckyl & Mr Hyde, The Beastie Boys, New Edition and Alyson Williams. There were hip-hop films before Krush Groove, but this was the first film to STAR hip-hop artists, with the main focal point, being the artists. It also "partially" showed the actual process in which Russell Simmons and Rick Rubin started Def Jam Records (in the film it was dubbed "Krush Groove" Records which has a story all it's own).

Donni-Oh! & Jay Quan dive into the conversation of Krush Groove, it's history and more.
