Big Daddy Kane On Sampling: 'The Origin of Hip Hop is a DJ Cuttin' Up Somebody Else's Music'

In a recent interview with Shannon Sharpe on Club Shay Shay, Shannon asked Big Daddy Kane would he have a problem with someone sampling his music.

Shannon said other peers, such as LL and Bobby Brown scoffed at the thought. However, particularly with LL Cool J, his entire career was built on sampling other artists' music.

Big Daddy Kane said, " Look at other genres of music and you can go back to their origins..... the origins of hip hop is the DJ cuttin' up somebody else's music.."
