A$AP Rocky Pays Rent For Tenants

A$AP Rocky partnered with the rewards and payments platform Bilt to cover the rent for residents of his childhood apartment building in Harlem.

Key details of the initiative include:

  • Rent Coverage: The partnership will cover the January 2026 rent for every tenant in the Harlem building where Rocky lived as a teenager.

  • Album Tie-in: The gesture serves as a "love letter to New York" ahead of the January 16, 2026, release of his long-awaited fourth studio album, Don't Be Dumb.

  • "Rent Free" Campaign: As part of the collaboration, Rocky appeared on a special edition of Bilt's "Rent Free" game show. This gave Bilt members across the U.S. a chance to win up to $2,500 toward their own rent and receive signed copies of an exclusive, Rocky-designed vinyl of his new album.

  • Motivation: Rocky stated that the donation was about honoring his roots and "understanding what community really means," emphasizing that Harlem shaped his identity.
