Public Enemy to Perform at Bernie Sanders' L.A. Rally

Public Enemy 1988

Democratic presidential hopeful Bernie Sanders will be hosting a rally in Los Angeles on Sunday (Mar. 1), and Public Enemy is set to perform. Comedian Sarah Silverman and beloved actor Dick Van Dyke will also take part in the event.

The rally comes just two days before Super Tuesday (March 3), during which the greatest number of U.S. states (California included) will hold primary elections and caucuses. Sanders has already won the New Hampshire and Nevada primaries.

For some, Public Enemy's performance comes as no surprise, as in their decades-long career, the group has often focused on political commentary and African American issues in their music.

Then for others, Public Enemy's performance does comes as a surprise. Due to the many people's disappointment in politics, on both sides of the aisle. One face that was included in the 1988 Public Enemy picture above that most likely won't be there is Professor Griff. He was removed from the group shortly after 1988 and more than another other member of the group, he has consistently voiced his disgrace toward the state of politics on the both sides.

The rally will take place at the Los Angeles Convention Center, with doors opening at 3 p.m. See event details here.
