It's a shame, but it seems status quo, when an artist passes away their popularity grows. Of course with that, so does their album sales, downloads and streams, which means more cizzash. Then, the question often begged is, "Why didn't said artist get that same love alive".
Humans are a very peculiar species, I'd say.
